De Lijn and Brussels Airport start pilot project with self-driving bus
The board of directors of De Lijn and the management committee of the Brussels Airport Company have given the green light to a pilot project with a self-driving electric bus at the airport. The vehicle developed for the purpose will be the first in Belgium to drive in mixed traffic. After the summer of 2019, tests without passengers will begin at the manufacturer 2GetThere in Utrecht. S-Lim system helps find a parking spot and monitor traffic diversion.
From now on, municipalities in Limburg can use a smart system for traffic management. The system can, among other things, keep track of available short-term parking spaces (shop&go), monitor traffic diversion or guide cars to available parking spots. This is the first project by s-Lim, the cooperative company that seeks to make all 44 municipalities in Limburg into a smart region.
