BWT at ISH 2025: Shaping the revolution of smart and sustainable water solutions

BWT offered an impressive showcase of the broad diversity of the newest products throughout all touchpoints of everyday life that ensure the most hygienic, softest and tastiest water for all purposes while also contributing to a cleaner future. From family homes to public facilities that need to rely on best water treatment technology – without it, modern life could not take place as it does now. For example, BWT products make sure, only safest ultra-pure water is used for injections in hospitals and for hydrogen production. The new generation of softeners and filters provide best water for smooth operation and prolong the life of household appliances. Many don’t know but soft water also reduces the need for cleaning agents, so environmental benefits can be gained in various ways.

World-class technology from BWT not only makes life safer and cleaner, but also tastier. At the ISH trade fair, 3.645 litres of mineralized water were tapped, and 5.305 cups of coffee were served – both with exquisite taste thanks to patented mineralization technology. Minerals like magnesium and silicate enhance the natural aromas of coffee and tea and promote well-being and vitality. With this system, the need for bottled water—whether plastic or glass—is eliminated, saving up to 80% of CO2 emissions from transportation. 11.044 plastic water bottles and 389 kg of CO₂ were be saved during the five days of the fair.

Among the presented products, two world-firsts were shown at the ISH fair. What was once a challenge for plumbing professionals, and considered impossible without costly, dual-piping systems, is now a reality thanks to an innovative concept. The BWT One Pipe Power formula ensures that water from a single pipe is softened throughout the entire building and mineralized and filtered in the kitchen for cold drinks. This revolutionary system eliminates the need for double piping, reducing installation time and cost while setting new standards for hygiene. BWT is now a leader in this patented technology that completely transforms the approach to drinking water treatment.

Another innovation presented was the new MACH filter that ensures greater hygiene and simplified use. The patented rotary pulse backwash (DIR) technology and smart design ensure efficiency, reliability and sustainability for sanitary installations. Dripping taps and damage to household appliances are avoided, while breeding ground for bacteria is minimized. This new technology ensures safe cleaning of the filter element, guarantees long-term use, and reduces water consumption during the backwash process. This is not only environmentally friendly but also highly resource-efficient – criteria that fulfill the core of how modern building technology should be designed.
